The program brought together, for the first time in Brazil, 33 of the most significant titles in the career of filmmaker, photographer, writer and multimedia artist Chris Marker. The event, which presented films, videos and TV series directed by the French filmmaker - also released a book catalog with analyses, essays and articles by Brazilian and foreign authors, as well as a commentated filmography and an interview with Marker. The honored filmmaker also produced the cartoon seen below for the book published for the retrospective.
The event was part of the Year of France in Brazil and occurred at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil branches in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia from May to July 2009.
